ROUNDTABLE: Geographical indications between competitiveness and sustainability: challenges and opportunities

Marie Paule Rizo heads the Policy and Legislative Advice Section in the Trademark, Industrial Design and Geographical Indication Department of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Marie-Paule joined WIPO in 1997, where she has worked in various positions relating to trademarks, industrial designs and geographical indications. In 2015, she was part of the Secretariat of the Diplomatic Conference for the adoption of the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement for the International Registration and Protection of Appellations of Origin.
She is a frequent speaker on international trademark, industrial design and geographical indication law.
Marie-Paule graduated in law from the University of Barcelona and holds a postgraduate degree on industrial property law from the University of Strasbourg.
